Allies and friends,
Last Thursday, HHS released a comprehensive report exposing the lack of evidence behind transgender medical interventions for minors. ACPeds issued a press release applauding this long-overdue acknowledgment of scientific evidence and urging medical professionals and lawmakers to abide with these findings.
NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya praised the report in a recent Fox News interview, emphasizing concerns about the long-term effects of such interventions and advocating for research that prioritizes health over ideology.
Similarly, Dr. Jill Simons of ACPeds spoke with Catholic News Agency, noting that the report found no evidence these procedures reduce suicide risk. She addresses the need to “stand up to the organizations that are still promoting these harmful procedures.”
This week, plaintiffs from the ACLU and other activist groups dropped their lawsuit against Alabama’s Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act. The law, which protects minors from gender interventions, now stands unchallenged—marking a significant victory for child protection and biological reality.
Sincerely,

ACPeds Applauds HHS Groundbreaking Report
Last Thursday, HHS released a comprehensive report highlighting evidence and best practices regarding the treatment of pediatric gender dysphoria.
The report confirms what ACPeds has been warning since 2011—transgender interventions on minors, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries—cause irreversible harm and do not prevent youth suicide. These practices defy decades of scientific research on child development, which establish that puberty is not a disease—its absence is.
NIH Director Dr. Bhattacharya Weighs In on HHS Report Findings
In a recent Fox News interview, new NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya discusses a new HHS report. He emphasizes concerns about the long-term effects of puberty blockers and surgeries, highlighting the evidence presented in the report.
He adds that the goal of NIH research moving forward will be to reduce chronic illnesses and build a healthier nation—free from ideological influence.
Dr. Jill Simons: HHS Report Confirms Risks of Gender Interventions
Dr. Jill Simons of ACPeds spoke with CNA to highlight serious concerns raised by the new HHS report on gender treatments for minors.
She noted the report found no evidence that these interventions reduce suicide risk and warned that some doctors use that claim “to scare parents.”
Lawsuit Dropped Against Alabama Child Protection Law
This week, plaintiffs from the ACLU and other groups that sued Alabama over its Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act have dropped all charges, marking a significant victory in child protection against harmful ideology.
“Alabama refused to be bullied. Now the rest of the country is seeing the truth. We are proud to lead that effort,” stated Attorney General Steve Marshall in his press release.
