Young Female Sexually Assaulted by a Male Competitor in Girls’ Wrestling
A Washington family has filed a lawsuit for their daughter, who was sexually assaulted during a girls’ wrestling match by a male athlete who identified as female. The family insists that school officials failed to properly respond to the family’s immediate report of sexual assault and that existing district policies prevented parents and female athletes from being informed when they are matched against a male competitor.
Presented by Alliance Defending Freedom, the family is seeking accountability from the school and policy changes in the state of Washington that would prohibit male participation in female sports and protect girls’ safety and privacy in school sports.

1792 Exchange Urges 568 Companies to Remove Coverage for Sex-Rejecting Interventions
1792 Exchange has sent letters urging 568 companies to exclude sex-rejecting medical procedures for minors from employee health plans. These so-called “benefits,” identified through the Human Rights Campaign’s 2026 Corporate Equality Index, may cover chemical and/or surgical interventions for employees’ dependent children and expose companies to legal, financial, and reputational risks.
In letters sent to corporate leaders, 1792 Exchange encourages companies to adopt policies similar to Walmart’s, which explicitly exclude any sex-rejecting procedures for minors from coverage. The campaign is part of a broader effort to encourage corporations to move away from activist-driven policies and focus on protecting children and providing only necessary health care benefits.
Michigan House Advances Child Protection Bill
Last Wednesday, the Michigan House has approved legislation sponsored by Rep. Brad Paquette that would prohibit sex-rejecting medical procedures and treatments for minors, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. The bill would also allow detransitioners who underwent these procedures as children to pursue legal action after reaching adulthood.
This measure protects vulnerable children from irreversible interventions that lack sufficient long-term evidence and upholds the medical principle of “do no harm.” The legislation now moves to the Michigan Senate for consideration.
DOJ Launches Compliance Investigations Into California Schools
The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a compliance review of the San Francisco Unified School District and three other California school districts to determine whether they are complying with federal parental-rights and Title IX requirements.
The review will examine whether parents are properly notified of and allowed to opt their children out of instruction related to sexual orientation and gender self-identification, as required under California law. Federal officials will also review policies concerning access to private spaces and participation in girls’ sports based on gender self-identification.
