Across the country, battles over protecting children and safeguarding truth in medicine are intensifying:

In Alaska, the State Medical Board has unanimously advanced a draft regulation classifying chemical and surgical interventions on minors with gender dysphoria as harmful, holding doctors who provide them accountable.

HHS has cut off California’s PREP grant after the state refused to remove radical gender ideology from federally funded sex education.

In contrast, Massachusetts has enacted the Shield Act 2.0 to strengthen protections for abortion and sex-trait interventions. The law, now mirrored in 18 states plus D.C., blocks cooperation with out-of-state investigations and creates strong legal barriers, making it harder to end these harmful practices.

Alaska Moves to Restrict Interventions on Minors

The Alaska State Medical Board has unanimously approved a draft regulation that would classify providing chemical and surgical interventions on minors with gender dysphoria as harmful.

The policy will undergo legal review followed by a 30-day public comment period. If finalized, the regulation would severely restrict doctors in Alaska from providing these interventions for individuals under 18, with the risk of being sanctioned by the board and losing their license.

This is a huge step for Alaska toward protecting children from the dangers of these procedures!

HHS Defunds CA from Indoctrinating Children

The HHS through its Administration for Children and Families (ACF), has terminated California’s PREP grant after the state refused to remove “radical gender ideology” content from federally funded sex education materials.

HHS cited that such curriculum—discussing hormone therapy, altering body parts, and reminding students that “some men are born with female anatomy”—exceeded the program’s statutory purpose and amount to misusing taxpayer funds.

Massachusetts Shield Act 2.0: Expanding Legal Protection

Massachusetts has enacted the Shield Act 2.0, strengthening protections for abortion and sex-trait interventions by blocking cooperation with out-of-state investigations and limiting the sharing of health data.

Currently, 18 states plus D.C. have similar shield laws, creating significant legal barriers to accessing doctors and health information and making it extremely difficult to eradicate these harmful interventions.
