Supreme Court Rejects Biden Administration Request to Enforce Title IX Rule Change
In what Riley Gaines described as a “win for women,” the Supreme Court rejected a request from the Biden Administration to enforce the Title IX rule change permitting men in women’s spaces in states where legislation expressly prohibits it.
The rule went into effect August 1st and has been challenged in lawsuits by more than 24 attorney generals.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons Releases Full Statement on Gender Dysphoria Approach
Following a recent City Journal article by Leor Sapir, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released a statement on their position on transgender surgeries for minors with gender dysphoria.
ASPS stated “considerable uncertainty as to the long-term efficacy” of surgical interventions and described the evidence as “low quality/low certainty.” They also state that “ASPS opposes any attempts at legal encroachment into the practice of medicine.”
Federal Judge Rules Against Decision to Protect Girls’ Sports in Virginia
District Court Judge M. Hannah Lauck ruled last week that a Virginia school board cannot prevent a child who identifies as transgender from joining the middle school girls’ tennis team.
Virginia is not one of the 26 states with laws that protect children from transgender interventions.
